APPLICATION

CLOSED UNTIL JULY 1st 12:00 AM US EASTERN TIME

Read the following before submitting your application:
  • Applications open midnight, US Eastern Time.
  • Invitation is required! The only time it is not is if the app round is open to the public. We will specify when an app round is public. You can make requests on the Invite Request page.
  • Reservation and Test Drive is required! Because of the cap and the app requirements, both of these are required before you can apply. App challenges will also need to reserve.
  • The application period is 3 days. We will process all apps at the end of the period.
  • All applications should be posted in the character journal applying to the game and linked to when submitting to this entry.
  • There is a 65 total player cap, but we may adjust it to account for volume.
  • There is a 10 character cast cap. If we receive more than we have open, we will accept the ones that best fit and came first. Players are limited to one character in a specific cast.
  • Players have a limit of playing 3 characters at a time, and there is an app limit of 2 characters per player with 1 character per canon.
  • There is a two week waiting period for all new canon materials.
  • For information about what kinds of characters are applicable, refer to the Applications section of the Game Info. Other information about character types and abilities can be found in their respective sections there.
  • Make sure to check the Taken and the Reserved entries to ensure the character you wish to apply for is not already listed.
  • Those who receive Revisions will have five days to submit the requested revisions before we consider it as a revocation of the application.

FORM

Fill out the following form and post it in the character journal you intend to bring into the game. When you submit your application, comment with the character journal with the link to the application.

PLAYER INFO

Invited by: Name of invite
Contact: Primary means of contact
Current Characters: For current players only

CHARACTER INFO

Character: Character you plan on bringing in
Canon: Canon and canon point. If an original character, simply note it as such. If a CRAU, note it here as well.
Age: (of the character)

Background Information: Just some basic background information about the character and what they've been through in their canon. We don't need a full biography, just a few paragraphs or even a bullet list highlighting key points will do. Wiki links are also acceptable. If this is a CRAU you will need to provide some brief information on what developments will be carrying over. We don't need a full history, just enough for us to get a feel of what kind of experiences they would have gone through that would cause changes in the character outside of their canon. 1200 word limit.

Personality: Please answer the following questions about your character. Be as clear as possible, and provide examples where you can. You can format this section as either 1) individual sections for each question; or 2) a more freeform essay/paragraph that covers all the topics. Please do not exceed 1200 words total.
1) Tell us about who your character is and what someone’s first impression would be upon meeting them.
2) What is a driving force your character has? What goals do they have, what motivates them, etc?
3) What are their flaws as a character? What is something they've messed up, or have done that they regret?
4) Optional: What is something unique and interesting about them, or what is a fun little tidbit that sets them apart from the crowd?

Abilities & Inventory: Describe or list whatever canon abilities and items that will be brought with the character, and be sure to mention any nerfs that will need to be made or else we'll decide on a nerf while processing the application. Linking to wikis is fine, just be sure to point out any particular abilities that need to be nerfed. Reminder: the only items that will be brought along with the character will be anything that is their personal belongings and is either on their person or near them at the time they enter Escordvi.

ARMADA SELECTION

Choose between Corsairs or Paladins and include a brief blurb explaining why. We would prefer if there's some thought put into it, such as including why they would fit in the faction and what they would do. Some ideas of what you'd like to explore with the character will help. We will try to slot them into your preferred choice, but if there is an imbalance in the two we may have to put them in the other armada. If your character can fit in either, please consider and note it down!

SAMPLE

Test Drive Sample: Link to TDM thread(s). These can be either toplevels or threads tagged into (toplevel NOT required). You can also supplement with other threads outside of the game if needed.

Questions: Any questions you might have.

Addendum to Question 1:

Faris' demeanor also marks out his profession. He isn't a man to be gainsaid. Oppose him, and he'll be ready to take you on, no matter your size or how important you think you are. If you're on his crew and balk at an order, he'll tear you a strip in front of all and sundry. That he's used to command is apparent from his decisive habits--once he decides to do something, he will simply start doing it, and he's not shy about dragging others into his wake. And he clearly has a very high bar for what is or is not "too dangerous" to attempt, because he's not afraid to throw the first punch or leap over a 10-foot chasm. But in spite of all this, it's apparent there is more to Faris than just being a selfish, self-willed buccaneer. He enjoys the company of fellow pirates, seafarers, and other voyagers, and he's noticeably more relaxed on the deck of a ship than he is on land. He'll show a friendlier aspect to people who impress him through bravery, stubbornness (if it isn't aimed at him), or curiosity. And once he has taken an interest in someone, he'll do his best to look out for them--in a way that is easy for others to see. Faris' adventures as a Light Warrior have also left a permanent mark on his character. He'll go out of his way now to help strangers who need a hand, always telling himself that it's because of his sister, or Bartz, or the old man and his granddaughter getting in his head. Being questioned about it will have him deny any claims to selflessness or nobility; he just happened to be there, or he was livening up a dull day, and don't expect him to stick his neck out the next time you get yourself in trouble, matey... but after the first two or three times he says it, it's clear that he can't actually let someone suffer or die if he can prevent it.
